The Anrep-Zacchaeus mine is a former non-ferrous metal ore mine in Brüngsberg , a district in the Aegidienberg district of Bad Honnef in the Rhein-Sieg district .

history

The pit name created by the consolidation of the pit Anrep and the pit Zacchaeus to pit Anrep-Zacchaeus . It has not yet been possible to determine when the two mines were merged.

Anrep pit

In the year 1853 the courage for the Anrep mine falls to the top climber Friedrich Oltze from Rheinbreitbach . This was followed by the award of the mine on July 3, 1864. Initially, mainly siderite was extracted. Lead and zinc ores were also sprinkled into the vein . The owners changed several times until the Stolberger Zink AG became the owner in 1892 .

Zacchaeus Pit

The Zacchaeus mine was loaned to the pharmacist Louis Vette from Langenberg in 1862 for lead , copper and zinc . At this time the first shaft was sunk . The tunnels had already reached a length of 70 m. Later the owners changed until the Stolberger Zink AG became owners here in 1892.

Stolberger Zink AG immediately began to expand civil engineering . In 1900, when a winding tower was being built in the middle of Brüngsberg at the Anrep-Zachäus mine, the first steam engine used in Aegidienberg, including a boiler house, was built. The bay was until the year 1906 to a depth meters of 100 expanded . At this point in time the maximum production (1905: 145 t zinc and lead ores) had already been exceeded. In June 1908 at the latest, the mine was shut down due to the exhaustion of the deposits.
