Northern Franconia group
The Group North francs was an association of artists of the postwar period in North francs .
The group was founded in the post-war period as an association of painters, graphic artists, sculptors and other artists with a focus on the city and district of Hof . Well-known members were Rolf Burchard , Max Escher , Emil Ressel , Karl Schricker , Karl Bedal , Anton Richter , Hannsjürgen Lommer, Runhild Laubmann and Margarete Wiggen . The group realized numerous exhibitions a. a. in Hof, Marktredwitz , Bamberg and Schweinfurt . The magazine Kulturwarte appeared at the instigation of the city of Hof until 1991 in 36 volumes. a. reported on artists, exhibitions and works. Here, in the June 1976 issue, in connection with the planned Grenzland Biennale, the merger of the Northern Franconia group with the interest group of visual artists in Hof to form the Northern Franconia group - community of visual artists . Several artists from Schwarzenbach an der Saale , whom Edgar Schindler specifically addresses as the Schwarzenbacher painter group, were closely associated with the group . He counts among them the artists Anton Richter, Karl Bedal, Arthur Seedorf and Alfred Kutzscher , who were influenced by Werner Gilles and Ernst Schuhmacher . In 1996, with the participation of individual members, the Kunstverein Hof was founded, which was joined by remaining members of the Northern Franconia group.
