Gruszowiec is a village with a Schulzenamt of the Dobra municipality in the Limanowski powiat of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .
geography
The place is located in the island Beskids , south of the mountain Śnieżnica (1007 m), about 17 km west of Limanowa and 41 kilometers south of Kraków .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1618.
Politically and administratively, the private village belonged to the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Krakow Voivodeship . After the First Partition of Poland, Gruszowiec became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Gruszowiec came to Poland. This was interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II , during which it was part of the Krakow district in the Generalgouvernement .
From 1975 to 1998 Gruszowiec was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
