The 3436.1 m high Gspaltenhorn is a mountain in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland .
The Gspaltenhorn lies northeast of the Blüemlisalp group , from which it is separated by the Gamchilücke ( 2852 m ). To the south it drops down a steep rock face onto the Tschingelfirn .
The name of the Gspaltenhorn is probably derived from the jagged rocks of the southwest ridge.
