The Guerge is a river in France that runs through the regions of Brittany and Normandy . It rises near the hamlet of Le Château de Bouteville on the municipal boundary of Les Portes du Coglais and Poilley , initially drains in a north-westerly direction, then turns from west to south-west and, after around 26 kilometers, flows into the Couesnon as a right tributary in the municipality of Sacey . At Saint-James the Guerge crosses under the A84 motorway . On its way the river crosses the departments of Ille-et-Vilaine and Manche .
