The Guggersee is a small mountain lake in the southeastern Walsertaler Mountains , a subgroup of the Allgäu Alps .
It is located at an altitude of 1709 meters high above the Rappenalptal in the Oberstdorf district . The lake is 1035 meters (as the crow flies ) southwest below the Alpgundkopf ( 2177 m ) on a panoramic path between Birgsau in the valley and the Mindelheimer Hütte ( 2013 m ). The Vordere Tauferbergsalpe is located 455 meters southwest of the path at an altitude of 1727 meters . The lake can be reached in around two hours on foot from Birgsau.
The lake has a length of 49 meters and a maximum width of 25 meters, with a circumference of 119 meters and an area of around 843 m². It used to be up to 75 meters long, but the northern part has silted up.
