Guido Lindemann (born February 19, 1955 in Arosa ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player .

Career

Guido Lindemann, who grew up in Arosa , spent his entire junior career at EHC Arosa . In the 1969/70 season, the talented striker played for the first time at the age of 15 instead of and under the name of his brother Hanspeter in the first team. In the following years he became more and more a supporting pillar of the club, with which he was promoted to the National League B in 1973 and in the National League A in 1977. Lindemann's most successful years in sport followed: As a strike partner of Jöri Mattli and brother Markus Lindemann , he won the championship title with the EHC Arosa in 1980 and 1982 . He also finished second with the EHC Arosa in 1981 and 1984, and third in the Swiss championship in 1985. He played 44 international matches and world championships with the national team .

Despite his regular travel-related absences during the preparations for the season, Guido Lindemann was a player with an exceptional goal instinct. As a preparer, he was also just as successful. This enabled him to become the first Swiss player in recent ice hockey history to become the top scorer in the National League A in 1981 (79 points) and 1982 (67 points). It wasn't until 30 years later, in the 2011/12 season , that a Swiss man, namely Damien Brunner , managed to finish the league as the player with the highest points. Also in the championships in 1983 and 1984 he was one of the absolute top scorer. Together with his storm partners Merlin Malinowski and Jöri Mattli, he was one of the most successful Swiss ice hockey players of the time. Despite various lucrative offers from other Swiss clubs, Guido Lindemann - like his role model Hansmartin Trepp - stayed with EHC Arosa during its national league times.

After EHC Arosa's voluntary relegation to the first division in 1986 , Lindemann moved to the traditional Ticino club HC Ambrì-Piotta for two years . From 1990 to 1992 he played for EHC Chur for one year each in the National League B and A. In between and afterwards he regularly helped out his regular club EHC Arosa in the 1st and 2nd leagues, occasionally also playing with his son Sven Lindemann . He ended his career at SC Rheintal in the 2nd division.

Private

Guido Lindemann's father came from Sursee , the mother from Amsteg . The latter worked as a midwife in Arosa for almost two decades and was present in this role at the births of Lolo and Hansi Schmid .

In 1984 Guido Lindemann bought the local English Church . In 1985 he had this demolished and the «Il Cural» commercial building built in its place. Later he also acquired the neighboring house Hold, which he converted over the years into a bed and breakfast hotel with a bar with a history of ice hockey.

After the end of his playing career, Guido Lindemann worked together with his wife as a transport company and investor in Arosa. Along with the members of the legendary Arosa Waldeck Storm ( Ueli Poltera , Hansmartin Trepp and Gebi Poltera ), he is probably the most successful and best-known player in the history of the EHC Arosa.

The sons Kim Lindemann and Sven Lindemann are also professional ice hockey players.
