Gumpersdorf is a district of the municipality of Zeilarn in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn . Until 1971 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Gumpersdorf is located on the Türkenbach three kilometers southeast of Zeilarn in the Isar-Inn hill country on the federal road 20 .

history

Gumpersdorf is first mentioned in documents between 1140 and 1202 in the books of the Steingaden monastery . The name is derived from the sex of a Gumpoldus who lived here in the 12th and 13th centuries.

In 1808/1810 the Gumpersdorf tax district was created, from which the Gumpersdorf rural community emerged. This was released from the Eggenfelden Regional Court by ordinance of September 24, 1840 and assigned to the Simbach Regional Court .

In the course of the territorial reform on April 1, 1971, the previously independent communities of Gumpersdorf, Obertürken and Schildthurn came together voluntarily and named themselves after the parish seat of the community of Zeilarn . Gumpersdorf was chosen as the administrative seat.

Attractions

  • St. Rupert Church. The side church of the parish of Zeilarn is a simple brick building from the last third of the 15th century, unplastered on the outside, with a low, probably older tower with a gable roof. The design of the nave, including the parallel rib vault, point to the "Master von Taubenbach ". The interior is baroque. The high altar painting shows the church patron, the painting in the elevator shows the Altötting Mother of God. On both sides of the high altar are statues of the bishops Wolfgang and Nikolaus. There are Gothic carvings on the side altars: on the left a Pietà , on the right St. Anna Selbdritt .
