Gundula Madeleine Tegtmeyer

Gundula Madeleine Tegtmeyer (born September 19, 1960 in Göttingen ) is a German journalist and photographer . Her work focuses on the Near and Middle East .

Life

After attending high school, Gundula Madeleine Tegtmeyer first completed an apprenticeship as a photographer and then an editorial traineeship with a focus on photo editing at the WDV travel magazine adventure and travel . After several years in the editorial office of Natur , she became a freelance journalist and photographer. Her work focuses on the Near and Middle East as well as the Islamic and Jewish world . After long stays in Rio de Janeiro , Cairo , Damascus and Tehran , she went to Israel in 2008 , where she now lives in Jerusalem . She writes for Spiegel-Online , PM Magazin , Qantara.de , tachles , Aufbau , the Orientmagazin Zenith and the Jerusalem Post , among others .

In 2012 she became a board member of the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development .
