Guns of Moropolis is a German hard rock / heavy metal band from Heidenheim .
history
The band was founded in 2009 and emerged from the remnants of the band Metanoia . According to singer and guitarist August Paulsen, Moropolis is the old name of the city of Heidenheim. In the same year Guns of Moropolis released the demo It's Fall Again . A short time later, the band was signed by Recent Records . In April 2011 the debut album In Dynamite We Trust was released . Guns of Moropolis played concerts in the opening act of the Emil Bulls and appeared at the Summer Breeze and Rockharz Open Air festivals . In 2012 the band played at the With Full Force Festival and recorded their second studio album Heavy Metal Killed Your Mama , which was released on February 22, 2013. In 2014 drummer "Der Kanonier" and bassist "George Wood" left the band.
style
The band calls their style Metalbilly . Paulsen's main influences include bands and artists such as Chuck Berry , Buddy Holly , Volbeat , The Hellacopters and ZZ Top . Because of their stylistic orientation, the band was called the Volbeat clone at the time of their debut album .
