Guntram the Rich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Guntram der Reiche († March 26, 973 ?) Was according to the family trees of Acta Murensia created in 1160, the progenitor of the Habsburgs .

origin

According to the Acta Murensia, his father was the king of Helvetia and Alemannia : Theodebert .

According to the European family tables , Guntram der Reiche was a member of the high nobility dynasty of the Eberharde Counts in the Nordgau ( Lower Alsace , today the French department of Bas-Rhin ), a son of Hugo III., 910 Count in the Nordgau, † 940 as a monk; ∞ Hildegard, and a grandson of Eberhard III., 888 Count in Nordgau, 891 Count in Upper Aargau , 889 Head of Sankt Felix and Regula in Zurich , 896 Head of Munster in Gregoriental (today Munster (Haut-Rhin) ); ∞ Adelinda.

The Eberharde are part of the Etichonen family , which goes back to Eticho Herzog in Alsace in the 7th century. This thesis is also supported by the Lexicon of the Middle Ages and Werner Trillmich.

The origin of the Habsburgs from the House of Etichones thus appears to be more or less certain.

Life

Guntram, who came from Alsace , was a count in Breisgau , owner of large estates in Lower Alsace and Mr. zu Muri . He lost part of his property in 952 because of an alleged breach of faith.

Offspring

His son was Lanzelin , Count of Klettgau and in Thurgau , Herr von Muri, † August 981, ∞ Luitgard, a daughter of Count Eberhard in Thurgau (later: Count of Nellenburg)

His grandson was Radbot , Count im Klettgau, the builder of the Habsburgs , ∞ Ita Countess von Metz from the House of Counts in Alsace, a daughter of Adalbert Count von Metz and Count in Saargau and Jutta Countess von Oeningen, founder of the Muri monastery .
