Lanzelin

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lanzelin , Kanzelin or Landolt († August 991 ) was probably the son of Guntram the Rich , the progenitor of the Habsburgs , and father of Radbot , the founder of Habsburg Castle and the Muri Monastery .

As the sources contradict one another, his wife's name was either Luitgard von Thurgau or Liutgard or Lütgard von Nellenburg (* 960). She was a daughter of Count Eberhard III. in Thurgau .

He called himself Count von Altenburg , possibly after the castle of the same name, Schlösschen Altenburg in Altenburg near Brugg (in today's canton Aargau , not far from the Habsburg, which was built later), but perhaps also after Altenburg im Klettgau: He is also called Count von Klettgau and Thurgau . It is said of him that he should have conquered lands in what is now Aargau by force.

progeny

Lanzelin had four children:

(not to be confused with Werner I (1025-1096), Count on the Habsburg)
