Gustav Boehmer

Gustav Boehmer (born April 7, 1881 in Koerlin , Kolberg-Koerlin district , † November 22, 1969 in Kirchzarten ) was a German lawyer and university professor.

Life

Gustav Boehmer studied at the University of Heidelberg from 1899 Law , where he a member of the same year Burschenschaft Frankonia was. He received his doctorate in 1907, Dr. iur. utriusque and Dr. rer. pole. and was then assessor. In 1909 he completed his habilitation at the University of Greifswald under Erich Jung for Roman and civil law . In 1910, he prepared Prince August Wilhelm of Prussia (1887–1949) for the traineeship exam as a tutor . In 1913 he became a professor of civil law at the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland).

From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as an officer . An attempt to escape from French captivity was unsuccessful.

In 1919 he became an associate professor and a year later a full professor in Halle / S. , moved to Frankfurt / M in 1934 . and from there in 1936 to Marburg . From 1941 he taught at the University of Freiburg / B. and retired in 1949 , but still lectured.

In the course of the transfer of power to the National Socialists , he joined the NSDAP in 1933 and in October 1933 the Nazi Legal Guardians Association . Boehmer was at the Academy for German Law under Hans Frank from 1939 to 1943 the chairman of the committee for matrimonial property law and a member of the committee for inheritance law . From 1943 he was a member of the Nazi Lecturer Association . He took part in the National Socialist “legal renewal”. In Frankfurt / M. he contracted disciplinary proceedings that led to a move to Marburg. Even after that, he often got into trouble until he was arrested.

Boehmer's work spans German private law . He was particularly concerned with the effect of the constitution on civil law , e.g. B. the property guarantee of the Basic Law . He earned merits for legal succession and for the law of illegitimate children up to and including the legislation of the Federal Republic of Germany.
