Gustav Salomon Tillberg (born June 19, 1777 in Billstorp in Södermanland , † March 26, 1859 in Greifswald ) was a Swedish mathematician , physicist and professor at the University of Greifswald .

Tillberg came from poor village conditions. He was the son of the master shoemaker Lars Tillberg († January 6, 1809) and his wife Helena Christina Lindgren († November 22, 1802). He first attended the village school and later the grammar school in Strängnäs . Due to his talent, he began studying in Greifswald from August 1801, which he completed on October 21, 1803 with a doctorate . In 1806 Tillberg was a private lecturer, in 1812 an adjunct at the Philosophical Faculty, since 1813 a full professor of mathematics and physics. In 1817 and 1828 he was elected rector of the university.

Since 1816 Tillberg carried out meteorological observations, which he sent to Stralsund.

On his 50th anniversary on October 21, 1853, the Prussian King awarded him the Order of the Red Eagle, 4th class .

Tillberg married Marie von Hagenow (1772–1844), Friedrich von Hagenow's widowed mother . With the capital he had acquired, he set up a foundation for gifted children in his home country.
