Gustav Schlick
Friedrich Gustav Schlick (born May 15, 1804 in Leipzig , † September 6, 1869 in Loschwitz near Dresden ) was a German portrait and genre painter , illustrator and lithographer .
Life
Schlick was a student at the Leipzig Academy with Hans Veit Schnorr von Carolsfeld and continued his education in Berlin and Paris . In four pictures that were engraved by Adolf Hohneck for the Sächsischer Kunstverein in 1834 , he illustrated the story of Gretchen in Goethe's Faust. A tragedy. In addition to his illustrations, portraits and genre scenes are known. In 1839 he lived in Kleine Windmühlengasse No. 12 in Leipzig before moving to Dresden in 1861.
