Gustav von Binder

Gustav Binder , from 1864 by Binder , (born July 30, 1807 in Augsburg , † January 22, 1885 Stuttgart ) was a Württemberg high school professor and member of the state parliament .

Life

Gustav Binder was born as the son of the banker and later councilor Christian Binder and after attending the Württemberg Latin schools in Kirchheim unter Teck and Esslingen as well as the seminar in Blaubeuren, he studied philosophy , history and theology at the Tübingen monastery , where he became a member of the Commentburschenschaft in 1825 . There he met his friend David Friedrich Strauss , whose funeral speech he gave in 1874. After completing his studies, he became vicar in Gerlingen , repetition at the Protestant seminar in Schöntal Abbey and at the Tübingen monastery. In 1832 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. In 1834 he became city vicar of Stuttgart. He later worked as a deacon , preacher and pastor in Heidenheim and then became a high school professor in Ulm in 1844 . From 1857 to 1866 he worked as a student councilor in Stuttgart and in 1866 became director of the Royal Academic Council, a ministerial department for the learned and secondary schools. In 1868 he became a member of the Military Examination Commission, from 1871 to 1878 he was Württemberg's representative on the Reich School Commission.

Gustav von Binder was a sponsor of gymnastics. He published numerous professional articles. In 1880 he retired with the title and rank of President. His brother was Albert von Binder , from 1861 to 1868 prelate and general superintendent in Ludwigsburg.

From 1845 to 1848 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg Land estates for the constituency of Heidenheim. In 1848 he became a member of the preliminary parliament in Frankfurt am Main .
