Gustav von Metzsch
Karl Heinrich Gustav von Metzsch , since 1899 von Metzsch-Reichenbach (born March 4, 1835 in Friesen ; † February 26, 1900 in Dresden ) was a royal Saxon chamberlain , chief ceremonial master , real secret council and member of the state parliament .
Live and act
Metzsch came from an old Vogtland-Thuringian noble family . His father was Karl von Metzsch (1804–1880), chamberlain and head tavern at the royal court in Dresden , his brother Georg von Metzsch-Reichenbach (1836–1927) , a year younger, was a minister and later chairman of the entire Ministry of the Saxon government.
He studied at the University of Leipzig and was active in the Corps Misnia Leipzig in 1856 .
In addition to his Hofaufgaben Metzsch was as a representative of the five beautiful Freiburgische Rezessherrschaften member of parliament of the Kingdom of Saxony in the years 1887/88 , 1889/90 and during the intervening extraordinary Diet of 1889 . As a manor owner on Reichenbach and Friesen zu Oberlößnitz , he was responsible for the Vogtland district until 1900 as a member of the manor owner elected for life .
The two brothers Gustav and Georg received on December 29, 1899 in Dresden the royal approval to use the name of Metzsch-Reichenbach and to include the coat of arms of the city of Reichenbach in the family coat of arms .
Metzsch married Emily Louisa Goschen (1841-1926), a sister of the British politician George Joachim Goschen, 1st Viscount Goschen and Edward Goschen from the Oberlößnitz merchant family Göschen in 1863 . He became one of the previous owners of his wife's family Villa Göschen . Both son Georg (1864–1931) converted and opened a Catholic branch of the family. He became chamberlain and high court marshal , one of his descendants was the banker Alexander von Metzsch-Reichenbach (1892-1960).
Gustav von Metzsch-Reichenbach was buried in the St. Pauli cemetery in Dresden , as was his wife Emily Louisa. The son Charles von Metzsch-Reichenbach (born January 22, 1864 in Leipzig; † August 6, 1908 in Pontresina ), royal Saxon legation secretary and first lieutenant in the royal Saxon Guard Rider Regiment, is also in their grave .
