Györgyi Balogh

Györgyi Balogh (born May 1, 1948 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian sprinter and hurdler .

In 1967 she retired from the European Indoor Games in Prague in the run-up to the 4-by-150-meter relay.

At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968, she reached the quarter-finals over 100 m and was eliminated over 200 m and in the 4-by-100-meter relay in the preliminary run.

In 1969 she was eliminated from the European Indoor Games in Belgrade over 50 m in the preliminary run and did not reach the goal with the Hungarian team in the 1950 meter relay. At the European Athletics Championships in Athens, she was seventh in the 4-by-400-meter relay and reached the semi-finals over 200 m .

In 1970 she was third at the European Athletics Cup in Budapest over 100 m and 200 m . At the Universiade she won silver over 200 m and bronze over 100 m. The following year she was sixth over 60 m at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Sofia . At the European Championships in Helsinki she won silver in the 200 m and was fifth in the 100 m and in the 4-by-100-meter relay .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, she came eighth over 400 m .

She was Hungarian champion over 100 m three times (1968, 1971, 1972), five times over 200 m (1968–1972), twice over 400 m (1971, 1972) and once over 80 m hurdles (1968).
