The 3rd European Athletics Cup A final for women took place on August 22, 1970 in the Népstadion in Budapest ( Hungary ) and that of the men on August 29 and 30, 1970 in the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm ( Sweden ). 31 disciplines (20 men, 13 women) were held on both dates. For women, the 1,500-meter run and the 4-by-400-meter relay were new to the program.
