Fictional medal table

The peculiarity of the European Cup was that women and men were rated separately. The following medal table is therefore purely fictional.

B final

Men and women the B-final was held on 10 and 11. August 1985 in Népstadion of Budapest instead.

Spain won the men’s race just ahead of Bulgaria and thus secured promotion to the A group. Besides the Norwegians, Greece was also relegated to the C group. They had to bow to the Yugoslavs with equal points, who held the class due to the more individual victories (two). In the women's category, France secured promotion to the A group with one point ahead of Romania. Denmark and Yugoslavia are relegated.
