The 23rd European Athletics Cup Super League or A final took place on June 22nd and 23rd, 2002 in the Parc des Sports of Annecy ( France ) and comprised 40 competitions.

German team

The team of the German Athletics Association (DLV) consisted of 51 athletes (25 women and 26 men).

doping

Due to the doping offenses of Dwain Chambers in 2006 all his mileage between January 1, 2002 and August 1, 2003 were canceled, whereby the German team subsequently got 1st place and the British team slipped to 4th place.

Also on June 22nd and 23rd the countries of the 1st division and the B-final of group A met in Banská Bystrica ( Slovakia ) and group B in Seville ( Spain ).
