The 4th European Athletics Cup A final took place on September 6th and 7th 1973 in the Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh ( Scotland , United Kingdom ). 33 disciplines (20 men, 13 women) were played.
It was also started for the first time on a synthetic career.
In the men's competitions, there was a new record of participants with 27 nations.
