Kirsty Wade

Kirsty Wade ( Kirsty Margaret Wade, née McDermott ; born August 6, 1962 in Girvan ) is a former British middle-distance runner .

In 1981 she was fourth over 800 m at the European Indoor Championships in Grenoble . The following year she won for Wales starting at the Commonwealth Games 1982 in Brisbane over the same distance.

Also over 800 m she was sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Piraeus in 1985 and fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in 1986 . At the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh , she defended her title over 800 m and triumphed over 1500 m . At the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart a seventh place over 1500 m followed.

In 1987 she was over 1500 m fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Indianapolis and sixth at the World Athletics Championships in Rome . At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 she reached the semi-finals over 800 m and was eliminated over 1500 m in the preliminary run.

After a baby break, she was sixth in the 1500 m at the 1991 World Cup in Tokyo: At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​she did not get past the first round over the same distance.
