Uwe Becker (born December 10, 1955 in Rosche ) is a former German middle-distance runner .

At the European Athletics Championships in 1978 he reached the semi-finals over 800 meters . After moving to the 1500 meter course , he finished fourth at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Sindelfingen in 1980 and won silver in Grenoble in 1981 . In 1982 he was sixth at the European Championships in Athens and in 1983 eleventh at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki . At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and at the 1987 World Championships in Rome, he was eliminated in the semifinals. He was three times German champion over 1500 meters (1983–1985) and four times German runner-up (1979, 1982, 1986, 1987). In addition to two other silver medals (800 meters in 1978 and cross-country middle distance in 1983), he was also champion over 5000 meters in 1984 and in 1985 in cross-country middle distance. In the hall he won six national titles over 1500 meters (1980, 1981, 1983–1985, 1988) and was runner-up once (1986).

Uwe Becker started for VfL Wolfsburg .
