Ute Thimm

Ute Thimm , b. Finger (born July 10, 1958 in Bochum ), is a former (West) German athlete who won the bronze medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles (3: 22.98 min, together with Heike Schulte-Mattler , Heidi-Elke Gaugel and Gaby Bußmann ; Ute Thimm as second runner).

At these Olympic Games she was sixth in the 400-meter run and, as the final runner in the 4-by-100-meter relay , came fifth with her colleagues Edith Oker , Michaela Schabinger and Heidi-Elke Gaugel .

She achieved another medal success at the 1986 European Championships : With the 4 x 400 meter relay, she won the silver medal (3: 22.80 min, together with Gisela Kinzel , Heidi-Elke Gaugel and Gaby Bußmann ; Ute Thimm as second Runner). In the 400-meter run she came in fifth.

With the German 4 x 400 meter relay , she took fourth place in the 1988 Olympic final in 3: 22.49 min with the cast of Ute Thimm, Helga Arendt , Andrea Thomas and Gudrun Abt .

She also started at the European Championships in 1982 , the World Championships in 1983 and 1987 , but without medal success.

In 1981, 1984 and 1987 she was the (West) German champion in the 400-meter run, and in 1987 she also won over 200 meters. Ute Thimm initially belonged to the ASV Köln , from 1986 to the TV Wattenscheid . She is 1.67 m tall and weighed 54 kg in her active time.
