Klaus Just

Klaus Just (born March 29, 1964 in Nürtingen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a former German athlete who won the silver medal at the European Championships in 1986 and 1990 with the 4 x 400 meter relay of the Federal Republic.

Career

In 1983 Just finished third at the European Junior Championships in the 400-meter run in 46.44 s, with the 4-by-400-meter relay he reached second place. He won his first international medal at the European Indoor Championships in 1985 , in 45 , 90 s he received silver in the 400m behind Briton Todd Bennett . He also won silver at the 1986 European Championships with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 00.17 min (Klaus Just, Edgar Itt , Harald Schmid , Ralf Lübke ). At the 1987 World Championships , Just started in the pre-run and intermediate run in the 4-by-400-meter relay, which took fourth place in the final. In 1989 at the European Indoor Championships he won the bronze medal in 46.80 seconds behind Cayetano Cornet from Spain and Brian Whittle from Britain . Four years after the silver medal in 1986, the German 4 x 400 meter relay also received the silver medal in 3: 00.64 minutes at the 1990 European Championships (Klaus Just, Edgar Itt, Carsten Köhrbrück , Norbert Dobeleit ). In 1991 Just reached sixth place at the world championships with the 4 x 400 meter relay. For this first season participation after German reunification , Just and Dobeleit came from the West, Rico Lieder and Jens Carlowitz came from the GDR. In total, Klaus Just started in nineteen events in the national jersey in the adult sector.

Klaus Just was German indoor champion over 400 meters in 1985 and 1986, and in 1990 and 1991 he took second place. With the Kornwestheim 4 x 200 meter relay, he won the German indoor championships in 1990. At outdoor championships he was third in 1987 , four times he took fourth place, which is important for relay participation in the national team.

Klaus Just was a multiple champion at the German Police Championships, in 1986 and 1990 he was each two-time European Police Champion.

Klaus Just started at TSV Köngen, competed for LG Filder from 1979 to 1982 and started for SV Salamander Kornwestheim in 1983 . In his playing days he was 1.76 m tall and weighed 66 kg.
