Cayetano Cornet

Cayetano Cornet , Catalan Gaietà Cornet Pàmies (born August 22, 1963 in Reus ) is a former Spanish sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, he reached the quarterfinals. In 1989 he won gold at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in The Hague and bronze at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Budapest , and in 1990 he won bronze at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Glasgow and came fourth at the European Athletics Championships in Split .

A bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships in Seville in 1991 was followed by the end of the preliminary run at the World Championships in Tokyo . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​he reached the quarter-finals in an individual competition and was eliminated with the Spanish team in the run-up to the 4 x 400 meter relay . In 1993 he reached the quarter-finals again at the World Championships in Stuttgart .

In 1988 he was Spanish champion over 200 m , in 1989 and from 1991 to 1994 over 400. In the hall he won the national title over 400 m in 1989 and 1991 and in 1990 the over 200 m.
