Sergei Lowachev

Sergei Wladimirowitsch Lowatschow ( Russian Сергей Владимирович Ловачёв , English transcription Sergey Lovachov ; born May 18, 1959 ) is a former Uzbek sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run and started for the Soviet Union in the 1980s .

In the 4 x 400 meter relay of the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki , he won the gold medal with the Soviet team. The following year he won over 400 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg in 1984 .
