The Neubiberg grammar school is a science , technology and modern language grammar school in the Upper Bavarian community of Neubiberg near Munich .
history
The high school was founded in 1976. A few years before the introduction of the G8 in Bavaria, the grammar school gave particularly gifted students the opportunity to finish the grammar school after eight years with the Abitur in a "G8 branch". In the school year 2014/2015 (as of October 1, 2014) 1298 students in the 37 classes of grades 5 to 10 and in over 200 courses and seminars of the upper grades (grades 11 and 12) attended the grammar school. About 126 full-time teachers as well as part-time teachers and trainees teach there. An extension with a cafeteria was completed in 2004 in order to cope with the growing number of schoolchildren and the requirements of the G8. From 2011 to 2013 the pupils of the Neubiberg grammar school were taught in the newly built Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn grammar school , as their own grammar school had to be completely renovated due to pollution. For this purpose, additional pavilions were set up in Höhenkirchen, which, however, were also polluted from the start and had to be closed after a year of use. In the 2012/13 school year, the upper school students were taught in the new (presumably not polluted) part of the Neubiberg grammar school and in the Ottobrunn grammar school (specialist rooms). Since the beginning of the school year 2013/14, all of the lessons have taken place in Neubiberg.
Exchange schools
The school has exchange programs with two French schools; the Collège Saint-Louis in Vouziers and the Collège Sainte-Thérèse in Rethel . There is also a student exchange program with schools in Seville , Granada and Madrid and Chernogolovka .
School theater
As part of the cultural program, the school offers an upper school theater and a theater group . In 2006, the Neubiberg grammar school hosted the 50th theater days of the Bavarian grammar schools .
SMV
The Gymnasium Neubiberg has an SMV , which is led by three student representatives elected annually. The SMV is organized in working groups. These include, for example, the Sport Working Group, the Technology Working Group and the Environment Working Group.
School and school newspapers
Until 2015, the Neubiberg high school owned a school newspaper, which was initially called Knallfrosch , but was renamed Update in 2013 . It was published annually from an elective course offered by the school.
In December 2013 an online newspaper called the Schüler Report was founded . It was published by two students on the school's homepage.
In September 2015, the editorial team decided to appear as a print medium in the future, which they called un: productive . In the course of this, the editorial team joined the SMV. The first issue appeared in July 2016 with 44 pages and an edition of 750 copies.
music
There is a lower school and an upper school choir at the Neubiberg grammar school. Since 2007/2008 the high school has been offering choir classes for fifth and sixth grade students in which a musical is rehearsed and performed.
The school also has a classical orchestra, a tower wind group, a folk music group and a big band.
