Tschernogolowka ( Russian Черноголо́вка ) is a city with around 20,983 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010). in Moscow Oblast in Russia . It is the center of the Chernogolovka district . The city is located around 40 km northeast of Moscow and 20 km north of Noginsk .
history
Chernogolowka was first mentioned as a village in 1710. At that time it was on a road that led from today's Noginsk (then: Bogorodsk) to the Trinity Monastery of Sergiev Posad .
In 1956, a research institute for physical chemistry was established nearby on the initiative of the Nobel Prize winner Nikolai Semjonow . In 1965 the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics was added. In the course of the 1960s and 1970s, Chernogolovka thus became an important scientific center. The place received the status of an urban-type settlement , since 2001 it has city rights.

Economy and Infrastructure
Around a dozen research institutions that have been established here since the 1960s and belong to the Russian Academy of Sciences play a key role in the city's economic life . The city is also an industrial location, including a nationally known beverage bottling plant and a production facility for BSH Bosch and Siemens Hausgeräte .
The city is close to the A107 ring road . There are regular bus connections with Moscow. Rail connections with Moscow and other places exist via the nearby cities of Noginsk and Shcholkowo .
Town twinning
There has been a town partnership between Tschernogolowka and Neubiberg in Upper Bavaria since 1992 .
