Seljatino ( Russian Селятино ) is an urban-type settlement in Russia in southwest Moscow Oblast . It has 12,629 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010) and belongs to the Naro-Fominsk Rajon (district).
The place is only a few kilometers southwest of the city of Aprelewka and 20 km northeast of the Rajon administrative center of Naro-Fominsk .
history
The settlement was created in the years 1956 to 1957. Named after a former village in the area, it initially served as a residential area for workers in a Moscow plant for hydraulic . Since it was difficult for the workers from other areas of the former Soviet Union to get a right of residence in the Moscow city area at that time, a settlement called Seljatino was built especially for them in the Moscow area near a railway station and a road leading to Moscow.
Originally the residential quarters of Seljatino consisted of the simplest prefabricated buildings up to five stories high (today also called Khrushchevki ), from the end of the 1970s more modern residential areas with houses from nine stories and higher were built.
