Ilyinsky ( Russian Ильинский ) is an urban-type settlement in Moscow Oblast ( Russia ) with 10,279 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The settlement is located about 35 km as the crow flies east- south- east of the center of the Russian capital - which is also the administrative center of the Oblast - Moscow and 20 km from the Moscow motorway ring. In a north-westerly direction Ilyinsky goes virtually seamlessly into the Bykowo settlement , and to the south into the city of Zhukovsky .

Ilyinsky belongs to the Ramenskoye Rajon and is about 10 km to the northwest from its administrative center Ramenskoye . The settlement forms a municipality of the same name (gorodskoje posselenije) .

history

The place emerged from the end of the 19th century, when the owner of the nearby Bykowo country house, Colonel Nikolai Ilyin , had dachas built on part of his property , which were rented to Moscow artists, bankers and merchants and later sold.

In 1975 the status of an urban-type settlement was given under the current name.

Economy and Infrastructure

Ilyinsky is primarily a dacha suburb of Moscow.

The Ilyinskaya railway station is located near the settlement on the Moscow - Ryazan line opened on this section in 1862 (route km 36 from the Kazan railway station ; suburban trains ). The regional road A102 Moscow - Zhukovsky - Ramenskoye runs south of the settlement . To the west of Ilyinsky was Moscow's Bykowo Airport , which had been closed since the end of 2010 .
