Beloosjorski ( Russian Белоозёрский ) is a city with 17,842 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010) in Moscow Oblast ( Russia ).

geography

The place is about 60 km southeast of Moscow . It belongs to the district ( Rajon ) Voskressensk , whose main town of the same name is 22 km southeast of Beloosjorski. Another neighboring city is Bronnizy around 10 km west on the opposite bank of the Moskva .

history

In the early 1960s, a stop was built on the Moscow – Ryazan railway line, which had existed since the 19th century. It was originally called kilometer 63 and was primarily intended to connect the research institute for military aviation founded a few years earlier. South of the train station, a settlement of the same name was created in 1961 for workers and employees of the institute, which was later named Beloosjorski . The latter literally means "at the white lake", based on a small lake near the village that bears this name. The first quarter of the settlement, built on with high-rise buildings based on the urban model, was completed in 1978.

Since 2004, Beloosjorski has been the core of the urban settlement Beloosjorski , which, in addition to the town of the same name, also includes six neighboring villages with a total population of almost 2000 inhabitants. In 2019 Beloosjorski received city rights.

Beloosjorski is located immediately south of the Moscow-Ryazan railway line with the Beloosjorskaya stop , which offers regional train connections to the Kazan train station in Moscow, but also to Voskressensk or Kolomna . The nearest trunk road is the Moscow Small Ring in the area near Bronnizy.
