Ivantejewka ( Russian Ивантеевка ) is a city in Moscow Oblast , Russia . It is located 41 km northeast of Moscow and has 58,626 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
history
Iwantejewka was first mentioned as Wantejewo in 1586. Originally the village belonged to the Trinity Monastery of Sergiev Posad . The first paper mill in Russia was built near today's city in the 16th century . Since then, the place has been an important center for paper production. In the 19th century a textile factory was also built there, which gained a good reputation with its production. In 1938 the industrial estate Ivantejewka received city rights.

Economy and Transport
Iwantejewka's most famous company is the Iwantejewski Trikotasch textile factory, founded in 1875 , and there are two other textile companies in the village. There is also a paper factory, a factory for manufacturing equipment for the food industry, a bread factory and a furniture factory on site.
The city is not far from the M8 trunk road and is connected to the Moscow Oblast railway network via a branch line of the Trans-Siberian Railway , which is used by local trains .
Attractions
Iwantejewka's sights include the Church of Our Lady of Smolensk from 1808 and an arboretum that was laid out in 1933.
