history

In the 20th century, units of the Red Army ("Garrison Alabino") were stationed not far from the old villages of Alabino and Petrowskoje . The associated housing estate (with the status of a rural settlement) was named after the politician Mikhail Kalinin . In 2006, Kalininez received urban-type settlement status and, as part of the administrative reform in the Russian Federation, became the center of the newly created urban municipality, which emerged in 2005 from the rural municipality of Petrovskoye.

Attractions

On the territory of the municipality of Kalininez are the remains of the Petrovskoje-Alabino country estate (also called Petrowskoje-Knjaschishchewo) of the industrialist Nikita Akinfijewitsch Demidow (1724–1789), who was probably built by Matwei Kazakow from 1776 to 1780 in the classicist style. The country estate completely fell into disrepair during the 20th century, during the Soviet period.
