Frjanowo belongs to the Shcholkowo Rajon and is a good 35 km northeast of its administrative center Shcholkowo . The settlement is the center of a municipality of the same name (gorodskoje posselenije) , to which 24 surrounding villages with a total of around 1000 inhabitants belong.

history

The place was first mentioned towards the end of the 16th century, in documents from the period 1584–1586. Local history has been determined by the textile industry since the 18th century. In 1735/1736 Frjanowo became one of the earliest factory villages in the Moscow governorate with the founding of a silk manufacture by the merchant Ignati Schereman . From 1758 to 1826, the factory was owned by the aristocratic Lazarev family, originally from Armenia, and experienced its heyday during this period. After several changes of ownership, the Salogin brothers from Ujesd Bogorodsk acquired the factory in 1857 , stopped producing silk and resumed operations as a wool spinning mill in 1859 .

On August 17, 1925, Frjanowo received urban-type settlement status.
