Hydrology
Due to power plants in the source streams, the original glacier character, with rising or falling water levels depending on the amount of sunlight, is hardly noticeable. The water level fluctuations therefore result from the operation of the power plant. The Gyronde and its source rivers represent demanding white water in the middle and upper range of the white water difficulty scale and are therefore often navigated.
