Héctor Epalza Quintero

Héctor Epalza Quintero PSS (born June 14, 1940 in Convención ) is a Colombian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Buenaventura .

Life

Héctor Epalza Quintero was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Cali on July 14, 1965 . He later joined the Sulpizian religious order and made profession on January 30, 1989 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Buenaventura on April 29, 2004. The Archbishop of Bogotá , Pedro Cardinal Rubiano Sáenz , donated him episcopal ordination on July 16 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Alberto Giraldo Jaramillo PSS, Archbishop of Medellín , and Juan Francisco Sarasti Jaramillo CIM , Archbishop of Cali.

On June 30, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
