In 1820 rural communities were formed. The rural community Demeldorf was created, which consisted of the villages of Demeldorf with 7 families, Geratshofen with 7 families, Grasdorf with 6 families, Höfen bei Grasdorf with three families and Mallersdorf with four families.

As of March 23, 1913 (Easter), Höfen was listed as part of the Schwarzhofen parish with three houses and 15 residents. When the municipality of Demeldorf was incorporated into the municipality of Schwarzhofen in 1960, Höfen became part of the Schwarzhofen municipality.
