Demeldorf is a district of the community of Schwarzhofen in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf ( Bavaria ).
Geographical location
Demeldorf is located about 5 kilometers southwest of Schwarzhofen in the middle of an extensive forest area on the western slope of a ridge that stretches in a northwest - southeast direction between Schwarzach and Auerbach. The ridge is formed by the following mountains (from north to south): Stab-Berg (465 m), Herzog-Berg (516 m), Tannen-Berg (535 m), Buchen-Berg (526 m), Atlas-Berg ( 568 m), Steinriegel (541 m) and Bursching (496 m).
history
Beginnings up to the 18th century
In the Battle of Hiltersried , which Count Palatine Johann led against the Hussites in 1433 , five of the Demeldorfer who fought with them died. Demeldorf (also: Dembldorff, Dembldorf) was mentioned in writing in the Salbuch in 1499 as the recipient of interest from the desolate Rammühle on the opposite bank of the Auerbach. In 1522 Demeldorf had 5 teams, in 1572 it had 6 teams and in 1661 4 teams.
In 1622, 1632 and 1661 there were four farms and two estates in Demeldorf. In 1632 Demeldorf had 63 cattle, 15 pigs, 1 goat, 5 beehives. In 1661 after the end of the Thirty Years' War , 2 horses, 41 cattle, 3 pigs, 4 goats and 2 beehives were listed for Demeldorf. In 1762 6 owners and 5 residents lived in Demeldorf , including a day worker, a large and a small guardian, and there was a community of Hüthaus.
19th century to the present
According to an ordinance of 1808, the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald was divided into 55 tax districts. Grasdorf formed a tax district with the villages of Demeldorf, Geratshofen, Höfen bei Grasdorf and Mallersdorf. At that time Demeldorf had 7 properties and 44 residents.
In 1820 rural communities were formed. The rural community Demeldorf was created, which consisted of the villages of Demeldorf with 7 families, Geratshofen with 7 families, Grasdorf with 6 families, Höfen bei Grasdorf with three families and Mallersdorf with four families.
As of March 23, 1913 (Easter) Demeldorf was listed as part of the Schwarzhofen parish with 10 houses and 70 inhabitants. On February 1, 1960, the Demeldorf community was incorporated into the Schwarzhofen community. On December 31, 1990 Demeldorf had 43 residents and belonged to the parish of Schwarzhofen.
