The Hüttenspitze or the Halltaler Zunterkopf is a mountain in the Karwendel region in the Austrian state of Tyrol, south of the Bettelwurf massif .

topography

The Hüttenspitze is 1760  m above sea level. A. high change notch separated from Bettelwurfsüdgrat. The summit falls to the north with the approximately 100 meter high Winklerwand almost perpendicular to the Wechselscharte. Towards the south, the Hüttenspitze is not quite as steep, but here too, especially in the upper area, steep Schrofen terrain dominates, towards the southwest the mountain with the Bettelwurfwand also drops steeply towards the Halltal.

ways

The normal route leads from the south over the Alpensöhnehütte partially over Schrofen in easy climbing (1st degree on the UIAA scale ) to the summit. This south-facing ascent usually clears snow very quickly in spring. The mountain can also be reached with difficulty via the alternating journey over the Wechselscharte and a path that leads from the east to the summit.

Huts

On the southwest slope of the Hüttenspitze is located at 1345  m above sea level. A. the Alpensöhnehütte , also called the Winklerhütte. The Alpensöhne are an independent, registered mountaineering association that was founded in 1893. The hut is open to guests on Sundays and public holidays from May 1st to the end of October. The hut can be reached via a path from the south in one to one and a half hours of walking. Another option is the water intake in Halltal . First, following the ascent to the Bettelwurfhütte , after a few minutes the path branches off right to the Alpensöhnehütte. This approach takes about 45 minutes to walk. 500 meters southwest of the Alpensöhnehütte is in the forest at about 1220  m above sea level. A. the Halltaler Hütte of the Alpine Association Die Halltaler , this hut is not open to the general public.

geology

In the higher areas, the top of the hut consists of Wetterstein limestone , followed by a horizon of Raibler strata below , and further down the valley, rocks from the main dolomite , among other things, are exposed. As far as the origin of the Hüttenspitze is concerned, the geologist Otto Ampferer traced it back to the tearing of the mountain, which he describes with poetic words: here a huge part of the body of the high begging thrown against the incision of the Hall valley has emerged and now through the rugged change gap from the womb been severed .
