history

After the HC Waagner Biro club, which was successful in the 1980s and 1990s, lost its importance, the HSG Graz was re-established in 1997. As early as 2002, he was promoted to the Handball League Austria , which was followed by a voluntary relegation to the second-class Handball Bundesliga Austria in 2003 due to subsidy cuts . In 2016 the club became runner-up in the HBA, in 2017 it was able to achieve 2nd place in the ÖHB Cup and victory in the HBA and thus a renewed promotion to the Spusu League. In the 2018/19 season, coach Ales Pajovic achieved the best result in the club's history by reaching the quarter-finals in the spusu league. After the new Austrian national team coach became known, HSG coach Ales Pajovic had to leave the club as head coach at the end of the 2018/19 season. In May 2019, the new coach Damir Djukic was presented.
