location
The village of Hackenbroich is located northwest of Hackhausen. There has been a smooth transition to Hackenbroich since the late 1960s and early 1970s. Arff Castle , which already belongs to the city of Cologne , is right next to it in the south . The Chorbusch forest area is nearby .
history
middle Ages
Hackhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1080: The Archbishop of Cologne Sigwin transferred the clearing tithes of Hachuson to the St. Kunibert Foundation in Cologne . The place was probably founded as a clearing from Cologne-Worringen . In 1155 the Knechtsteden monastery owned a farm in Hackhausen. However, the place was only mentioned again in the documents of Knechtsteden in 1317, so that it can be assumed that Knechtsteden had given up his property in Hackhausen. In 1308, Johann von Reifferscheid-Bedburg, Herr von Hackenbroich, transferred his court in Hackhausen to the Count of Holland as a fief . In 1317 Johann von Reifferscheid-Bedburg sold the Siegenhoven farm to the Knechtsteden monastery.
Modern times
In 1794 French troops occupied Hackhausen and it became part of the new Mairie Dormagen in the Département de la Roer . Hackhausen was incorrectly referred to as Horrem on a map by the surveyor Tranchot . In 1815 the village came under the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1816 the community of Hackenbroich was established and Hackhausen was assigned. The Hackhausen community became part of the Dormagen mayor's office in the Neuss district . In the 19th century Hackhausen developed into a small street village. At first the place had a total of 21 houses in 1817. In 1834 Hackhausen had a mill. In 1878 a warrior club for Hackenbroich and Hackhausen was founded. In 1879 an address book for the Dormagen area was published. The fruit miller and baker Theodor Hogrebe, the Schenkwirth Peter Töller and the potato dealer Johann Schotten were mentioned for the village of Hackhausen. American troops occupied Hackhausen in March 1945. Hackhausen has been part of the city of Dormagen since July 1, 1969. In 2005 the place celebrated its 925th anniversary.
