action

The Blanchard family has long been waiting for a donor liver for their 12-year-old son Jason. Finally his mother Christy, a doctor at the local hospital in Rutland , receives the news that a suitable donor liver has been found and is on a plane to Rutland.

At this point, of all times, a storm is brewing. The machine gets caught in a violent hailstorm and crashes over the mountains of Vermont . When Dan Blanchard, Jason's father finds out, he drives to the crash site to look for the plane and the container with the donor liver for his son. In fact, Dan manages to spot the plane wreck. He finds a survivor, namely the copilot. He can also give Dan the luckily undamaged container with the donor liver.

Dan immediately makes his way to the hospital. On the way he happened to witness a group of young climbers getting into distress due to heavy hail. Dan rushes to their aid and is able to save a young girl from falling. It turns out that his daughter Marie was also part of the group. Together the two continue to Rutland.

Meanwhile, Dan learns from his wife on the phone that their son Jason has not yet returned from an event. Jason was supposed to show his magic to a group of children so that their parents could concentrate fully on the used car sales event. In any case, this is the idea of the head of the event, Peter Crane, who only thinks about his profit. When the storm hit the town and the venue, he ignored Jason's warnings. But he does not give up and uses his break to warn all those present via loudspeaker. But the first large hailstones are falling on the sales area and destroying vehicles and the adjacent building. Jason and Peter Crane try to get to safety in the building, but are buried. Jason is unharmed, but Peter Crane breaks his leg and is trapped by falling parts.

Time is running out for Jason's father and sister: only a green lamp lights up on the donor liver container. If this goes away, this is a sign that the tissue of the liver is dying. Meanwhile, Jason's mother waits impatiently in the hospital for the arrival of her son and the replacement liver that is essential for him. Eventually, Peter Crane and Jason can be rescued from the building by rescue workers. The donor liver and Jason arrive at the hospital just in time, where everything has already been prepared for the operation. The operation is successful and Jason's life is saved.

Reviews

"Moderate (TV) disaster film off the shelf."

“TV disaster drama in the truest sense of the word. In the Greek legend there was the Medusa , at the sight of which one froze to stone. The hailstorm here is called 'Medusa' - and the viewer faces a similar fate. The badly tricked, tennis ball-sized hailstones are undercut by the embarrassing story [...] - This film does not cover any insurance. "
