Haim Omer is also known in German-speaking countries for his writings in the field of education . In response to authority problems in today's upbringing, he, together with Arist von Schlippe , developed a concept of parental authority through relationship and without violence . He argues that an authority that relies on distance , fear, and punishment leads to a loss of relatedness. As an alternative, he shows an authority through relationship , which is characterized by parental presence , through self-control , but also the use of support systems. What is important to him is the transparency of the behavior of the educators, the setting of boundaries through determination without violence, and the demonstration of possibilities for reconciliation and reparation .

Omer developed his concept of a new authority against the background of systemic therapy and humanistic psychology , but also includes behavioral approaches.

His writings deal with current social backgrounds of upbringing and at the same time are designed pragmatically. They are aimed at both professional educators and advisors and parents. The principles outlined by him are also taken up in the context of the discussion about how to deal with children and young people who are prepared to use violence. He also gives lectures in German.
