Haine is a district of the municipality of Allendorf in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .
Geographical location
Haine is located in the valley of the Eder about 4 km northeast of Allendorf towards Frankenberg . The federal highway 253 runs on the southern outskirts .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 850. Haine used to be a Franconian guard base on a military road . In 1464 the village was devastated and empty. In 1516, farmers willing to settle were enfeoffed with the desert for the purpose of repopulation.
On 1 July 1971. groves in the wake of was municipal reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the community Allendorf (Eder) (former spelling Allendorf Eder ) incorporated . For groves one as for the other incorporated municipalities local district with the town council and mayor formed.
In the competition Our village should become more beautiful , the village was able to win many awards at district, regional and state level. In 1987/1988, Haine received the title “Federal Gold Village”.
