Rennertehausen is a district of the municipality of Allendorf (Eder) in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .
Geographical location
Rennertehausen is located on the Eder and then south-east of Allendorf. The place is separated from Allendorf by the federal highway 253 . The Allendorf – Frankenberg railway passes north of the village . The districts of Battenfeld and Allendorf can be easily reached on foot due to the short distance.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1274. The old Kölnische Landstrasse used to lead over a ford through the Eder. In 1570 the parcels of the village of Altershausen are taken over by the municipality of Rennertehausen.
The statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse reports on Rennertehausen in 1830:
"Rennertehausen (L. Bez. Battenberg) evangel. Parish village; is not far from the Eder, 1 St. from Battenberg, has 118 houses and 726 inhabitants, who are Protestant apart from 1 Catholics and 18 Jews. There is 1 grinding, oil and cutting mill, some potash boilers, and a second-class border customs office. The place used to belong to the church area of Battenfeld. "
Rennertehausen belonged to the Battenberg office from 1832 to 1848 and from 1852 to 1932, which in turn belonged to the Biedenkopf district . It was not incorporated into what was then the Frankenberg district after 1932 . The only evidence of the former border between Rennertehausen and Haine to the northeast is the different telephone code .
