The district of Battenberg was a district in the Grand Duchy of Hesse , which existed from 1821 to 1832. The seat of the district administrator was Battenberg . The district council was added to the Biedenkopf district in 1832 .

history

Emergence

The district of Battenberg was formed in the course of an administrative reform in 1821. This dissolved the old offices, whereby for the first time jurisdiction and administration were separated at the lower level . Spatially, the new district was larger than the old offices. In it were combined:

With this administrative reform, however, the rights of the patrimonial judges in the area of public security and order were retained .

As part of the administrative reform of 1832, the administrative districts were combined into administrative districts. The district of Battenberg merged (together with the district of Gladenbach and the district of Vöhl ) in the new district of Biedenkopf.
