The district of Dieburg was a district in the Grand Duchy of Hesse with its seat in Dieburg . It existed from 1821 and was added to the Dieburg district in 1832 .

history

Emergence

In the course of the administrative reform of 1821 in the Grand Duchy, jurisdiction and administration were also separated at the lower level , and the tasks of the traditional offices were reorganized in district districts - responsible for administration - and district court districts - responsible for jurisdiction. The Darmstadt district council arose from:

The original origins of the places were very different:

All places belonged to the "Dominiallands" in 1821 - there was no patrimonial jurisdiction and the state was the sole holder of all sovereign rights.

The jurisdiction in this area was transferred to the newly established Umstadt Regional Court .

The End

In the regional reform of 1832, the district councils were dissolved and merged into larger districts . Shortly afterwards, their layout was defined in a further regulation . The district of Dieburg merged with the district of Reinheim in the new district of Dieburg .

Internal administration

The district council was divided into mayor's offices , which were subordinate to the district administrator. Several smaller towns were often administered by a mayor's office. From 1822 the Hessian municipalities were able to choose their mayors themselves; mayors were no longer employed. The 20 mayor offices of the district of Dieburg were:

  1. Altheim ,
  2. The castle,
  3. Dorndiel ,
  4. Large rooms ,
  5. Harpertshausen ,
  6. Hering with the Otzberg,
  7. Heubach ,
  8. Kleestadt ,
  9. Klein-Umstadt ,

For the income from state property (the so-called domains ) there were the rent offices . The Umstadt Rent Office was responsible for the entire district .

The tax administration was separate from this. The tax district Dieburg was responsible for the district administration, which included all places and was part of the Umstadt administration . The tax district of Dieburg was in turn divided into three district takings, which consisted of Dieburg with Altheim, Großzimmer Harpertshausen, Kleinzimmern and Semd, Schaafheim with Dorndiel, Kleestadt, Kleinumstadt, Langstadt, Moßbach, Radheim and Schlierbach as well as Umstadt with Hering, Heubach, Lengfeld and Raibach.

The district belonged to the main customs office in Offenbach and had the secondary customs office of the second class in Schaafheim.

The forest administration of the district of Dieburg was taken care of by the forest Umstadt . This had four forest areas in the district: 1. Altheim with Harpertshausen, Kleestadt, Langstadt, Richen, Schlierbach and Semd; 2. Dieburg with large rooms; 3. Lengfeld with Hering, Heubach and Umstadt; 4.
