history

The alpine pasture was established in the 17th century and was in operation until the Tatra National Park was founded in 1954. The Alm was owned by the village of Waksmund . The owners were expropriated in 1961. Since cattle farming was stopped, the alpine pasture has grown over with coniferous forest and mountain pines.
